Bianca Jagger is more than just a humanitarian, socialite and former wife of a rock'n'roll legend, she is a timeless style icon whose influence is still seen in fashion today.
Born Blanca Pérez-Mora Macias in 1945 to a wealthy family in Managua, Nicaragua, Bianca received a full scholarship at the age of sixteen to study political science in France at the Paris Institute of Political Studies. It was in Paris that she would meet her future husband, Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger, at an after party following his sold out concert in September of 1970. Aware of Jagger's womanizing reputation, Bianca would initially turn down Mick's advances to leave the party with him. Her "hard to get" attitude only fueled his interest and soon Mick began to persue her via telephone. He offered to fly Bianca to Italy to join him on tour and she finally agreed. From that moment on, they were inseparable.
Bianca moved in with Mick at Stargroves, his posh mansion outside London, where she discovered that she was four months pregnant. Though Mick had recently fathered a child, Karis, with musician Marsha Hunt, he ultimately did not feel committed enough to marry her. After learning the news of Bianca's preganancy, Mick proposed and the couple began to secretly plan their nuptials in St. Tropez. Within 24 hours, friends such a Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Keith Moon and Eric Clapton were flow in by private jet to attend the glamorous, two-part wedding of the decade. Bianca and Mick were both dressed in virginal white suits made by Yves Saint Laurent and exchanged vows in front of hundreds of paparazzi to the theme of "Love Story". A few months later, the Jaggers welcomed the birth of their daughter, Jade, deciding to raise her part time in New York City.
Throughout the 70's, Bianca Jagger became a queen of the NYC night life scene, especially due to her friendship with pop artist, Andy Warhol and illustrious designer Halston. They were often seen together at disco night club Studio 54, where Bianca famously entered her birthday party atop a white horse. It was also at Studio 54 that Mick met Texan model Jerry Hall and began to have an affair with her, resulting in the couple's ultimate divorce. After their split, Bianca decided to try out acting and won her first starring role in the film "Cannonball Run" opposite Burt Reynolds followed by a guest appearance on popular TV show Miami Vice. In her later years, Bianca emerged as a social activist, establishing the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation. She has now retreated from the spotlight but her striking beauty and effortlessly chic fashion sense will always be admired.
